Mitsotakis for wage increases in the Armed Forces: It is a minimal expression of gratitude

In his post, the prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis reported to wage increases For the uniforms, stressing that on April 1, a “fair pay reform” begins for all Armed Forces executives. The reform is not treated as a mere economic measure, but as an act of recognition and gratitude to the “unshakable guards of the freedom and independence of the homeland,” the prime minister stressed.

According to Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the uniforms will see significant increases in their earnings, ranging from 13% to more than 20%, depending on the degree, their service and responsibilities. The total investment amounts to 268m euros, and – as the prime minister assures – without threatening the fiscal balance. The resources required, according to him, come from the new structure of the Armed Forces and the European flexibility secured for defense spending.

As he announced, the 12 -year program of national defense spending will soon be presented to Parliament. “There is no social progress and prosperity without security and national independence,” he said.
