Remains which he estimates do not belong to hostages held by Hamasreceived it Israel through the Red Cross yesterday Friday (31.10.2025).
“We don’t know if the remains that were handed over to us belong to hostages (s.s. of Hamas)”, said a military source Israel to the French News Agency (AFP).
“From what we know, we do not think that these are the remains of hostages,” he noted and added that they were transferred to the laboratories of the forensic service for the planned identification process.
Earlier yesterday, International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) had announced that her crew “facilitated the transfer of three bodies to the Israeli authorities”.
Under the ceasefire agreement, Hamas released on October 13 the 20 hostages it was holding in the Gaza Strip. He was also supposed to have handed over the remains of 28 dead hostages, but has so far returned 17 bodiesciting difficulties in finding them under the rubble of buildings leveled due to Israeli attacks on the Palestinian enclave.
The delays have angered the Israeli government, which accuses Hamas of violating the terms of the truce deal.
