Trump is restricting reporters’ access to the White House after the Pentagon

A new regulation limiting the access of accredited journalists to the offices of Press Secretary Caroline Levitt and other top communications officials in the West Wing, near the Oval Office, the White House announced in the early hours of Saturday (01.11.2025), Greek time.

As stated in the relevant memorandum released yesterday (31.10.2025) afternoon local time, access to Room 140 by journalists is now prohibited without prior appointment, with the White House citing the need to protect “sensitive information”.

The new regulation follows restrictions that went into effect earlier this month on accredited journalists’ access to the defense ministry. In response to these restrictions, dozens of journalists left their Pentagon offices and returned their credentials.
