Russians shot down Ukrainian drones headed for Moscow – Airports closed for security reasons

Attacks with drones against Moscow for the third consecutive night, unleashed the Ukraine causing problems in the operation of the airports of the Russian capital in the early morning hours of Wednesday (29.10.2025) Greek time.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that air defenses shot down 57 Ukrainian drones in three hours, including four on the outskirts of Moscow and eight in neighboring regions.

The Ukrainian armed forces have been launching long-range drone strikes against Moscow and other Russian regions for months, targeting military and industrial facilities.

The Russian Civil Aviation Service (Rosaviatsiya) has informed that the Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports have been temporarily suspended for security reasons.

The mayor of the Russian capital, Sergey Sobyanin reported in a post on the Telegram platform that rescuers rushed to the site of the crash site of a Ukrainian drone headed for Moscow. So far there are no reports of casualties or major damage.

Russian authorities do not disclose the exact impact of Ukrainian strikes on the country, unless there are casualties or civilian targets have been hit.

In the previous two evenings, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that 35 Ukrainian drones heading towards Moscow had been shot down, without reporting any material damage.
