Kim fired cruise missiles shortly before Trump arrived in South Korea

Kim Jong Un’s North Korea launched a cruise missile towards the west coast of the Korean peninsula yesterday (28.10.20250), as the Donald Trump arrives at South Korea.

The American President, Donald Trump expected on Wednesday (29.10.2025) at South Korea and in the city of Gyeongju to participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit (APEC), on the sidelines of which he intends to have a one-on-one meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping.

In North Korea’s missile test, the Kim Jong Un was not present, the country’s state news agency KCNA reported, adding that the Cruzes traveled a predetermined distance and hit their targets.

Referring to the launch of the rockets, Mr Park Jong-chonvice chairman of North Korea’s Central Military Commission, spoke of “significant successes” being recorded in the development of the country’s “nuclear forces” based on the plan set by the leadership of the ruling Communist Party.
