Zoe Konstantopoulou for October 28: “To fight for Freedom and Democracy, defying the costs and power relations”

The post of the president of Freedom of Navigation

“To fight for Freedom and Democracy, defying the costs and power relations”, emphasizes in her post for the national anniversary of October 28, the president of Freedom Sailing, Zoe Konstantopoulou.

The post in detail:

“October 28, 1940-October 28, 2025

85 years later,

the heroic NO of the Greek men and women fills us with pride and a sense of responsibility.

NO and the Epic of 40 that followed, the Resistance and the heroism of our ancestors, are indelibly written in our collective memory, as a part of our existence, as a life attitude and as a duty:

To fight for Freedom and Democracy,

Defying costs and power relations.

It is our NO, our attitude towards life that writes the continuation of history for today’s and future generations.

Today we say again

NO to fascism

NO to unfreedom

NO to injustice

NO to cover up

And of course we say

NO to the violence and propaganda of a scared, panicked power that is leaving, and trying to terrorize the citizens.

Today I will lay a wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Soldier together with Alexandra Santa, daughter of our national hero, Laki Santa, who together with Manolis Glezos, took down the Swastika from the Acropolis and with this “unacceptable activism”, as some would describe it today, filled the Greeks with hope and gave a message of Resistance to occupied Greece and to world.

2 young guys, heroes forever…

Then I will watch the parade of our students together with the citizens, as befits a democracy. I refuse to attend “Official Forums”, guarded by the Police, while the official State questions the most fundamental rights and freedoms of the citizens and uses the police to suppress the citizens.

Happy birthday, my country

To be worthy of the NO that our ancestors bravely said and of the Freedom for which they Fought, Resisted and gave their lives.

Immortals
