The EPO’s international scouting through which players such as the late George Baldock and Noah Allen were discovered continues and evolves. According to exclusive information of APE, the people of the federation identified at West Ham 18-year-old Ryan Ogebande, who meets the criteria and will be called up immediately to National Youth to participate in the European Championship qualifiers.
Born on the 30th of April 2007 to a Greek mother and a Nigerian father, Ryan Ogebane speaks perfect Greek and has been with West Ham since the age of 14. As a football CV, the youngster looks like an exceptional case. He is a left-footed defender who can play equally comfortably as a stopper and as a full-back.
He has competed in the England U15 national team, while he was the captain of the West Ham U18 team that last year won the cup of the corresponding age category (Premier League Cup) in England. This year it was promoted to the U21 which competes in the Premier League 2 championship, i.e. against all the respective sections of the Premiership clubs.
Although he is one of the youngest in the team, he has already made five appearances in the first 7 games. It is worth noting that all his participations in the current season are as a left back, which probably means that this position is also intended for the Youth national team.
Greece enters the battle of the first phase of the European Championship 2026 in mid-November in a group in Turkey, where it will face Belarus, Liechtenstein and the representative of the organizer.
