Asked what this means, she replied that “from now on the monument will be kept clean and no one will be able to go there to make any intervention” although the government will not take aggressive actions.
“At some point the names will be erased from there anyway, and from now on no one else is going to write any other name or make any other intervention of their own inspiration on the monument which belongs to all of us”, he underlined.
Asked about the role of the police, Ms. Gelestathi said that they are there, but have not intervened effectively at times. “From now on the monument will regain the glory it deserves and the police will intervene whenever necessary and whenever someone tries to deface the monument,” he added.
