Another fatal traffic accident took place today, Sunday, October 26, in Granitsa Evrytania after a 39-year-old fell from the cliff with his car and lost his life.
According to the iLamia report, the 39-year-old man, a resident of Granitsa, set off with his car and his niece as co-driver for Raptopoulos in Evrytania. At some point on the road, at the height of Lithochorio, under unspecified circumstances, he lost control of the car and fell into a cliff about 80 meters high.
His niece managed to get out of the car and alert the authorities, but the unfortunate man was pulled dead from the cliff while she was taken injured by ambulance to the hospital.
Today would be a day of celebration for the small community of Granitsa as the tsipouro celebration is planned for the evening. However, after the loss of the 39-year-old, the Cultural Association of Granitsa decided to hold the event without music as a sign of respect to the family of the unfortunate man.

“After the tragic event that occurred this morning, out of respect for the family, we decided to hold the Tsipourou Festival without music, thinking of course about the arrival of our fellow villagers as well as the visitors” says the announcement of the Board of Directors of the Association.
