US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said US officials were gathering views on a possible UN resolution or international agreement authorizing the deployment of a multinational force in Gaza, and that the matter would be discussed in Qatar.
“Many of the countries that have expressed an interest in participating in some way – either financially or with personnel or both – will need that (a UN resolution or an international agreement) because their domestic laws require it,” Rubio told reporters traveling with him on the plane from Israel to Qatar, en route to Asia.
“We have a whole team working on this initiative,” he added.
