The European Union regrets “deeply” for the decision of US President Donald Trump to proceed with the enforcement dictatorial 25% in the European vehicles imported by his country. This was emphasized today (27.03.2025) by the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Layen.

“I am deeply sorry for the US decision,” Ursula von der Layen said with her post on X (formerly Twitter), adding that Brussels “will continue to seek solutions through negotiations” with the Donald Trump government.

Much more intensely reacted to the decision of the US President to impose a 25% customs duties on imported vehicles, Canada.

The country’s prime minister, Mark Carney, spoke of a “direct attack” on Canadian workers.

“Customs duties against our automotive industry are directly attacking the workers” in Canada, the new liberal leader and prime minister said, addressing journalists, accusing Republican President Trump of being “trained”.
