Tsipras who wants to forget Tsipras

Alexis Tsipras seems to be convinced that if vocabulary changes, he will change past. He talks about “old passports” that do not go through the “new era” as if it were not the one who sealed them. The one who ruled, who signed Memorandums, who filled the political landscape with cynicism and arrogance. Now, suddenly, she discovers that all this is … “old”.

His distancing from SYRIZA, whom he calls coldly “a life -long relationship”, is reminiscent of an ex who throws the photo from the wallet. Only here we are talking about a party that gave him power, immunity and substance. And now he treats it as a weight.

When he states that “it doesn’t matter how much left we place ourselves”, he reveals what always existed behind his rhetoric: complete ideological emptiness. For Tsipras politics is not values, it is a tool. A platform to go on stage again, with a new name, a new poster and the same old look in power.

Just as he tries to erase yesterday, his fingerprint is everywhere: in 2015’s illusions, in capital controls, to the toxicity he left behind.

The “old passport” that does not go through the new era is not by SYRIZA – it is his own. And no matter how much it is in the drawer, the seal writes clearly: it was canceled due to hypocrisy.
