The posting of the next year’s vehicle registration fees on Taxisnet is expected in early November, with the payment deadline expiring on December 31, 2025, without the possibility of an extension, as the new system of scaled fines in the event of late payment is now valid.
The amount of the fees is calculated according to the first vehicle registration license, the engine cubic and the CO2 emissions. Specifically for those cars sorted in Greece by October 31, 2010, fees are determined on the basis of their cubism and for the vehicles released after November 1, 2010 based on CO2 emissions listed on the marketing authorization while the “net” are completely exempt.
For example for cars with first release before October 2010 cubic 1,200 cc. The amount is 135 euros, for 1,600 cubic feet of 280 euros and for 2,000 cubic feet of 690 euros.
For cars by sorting from 1.11.2010 to 31.12.2020 the fees are as follows:

- 91-100 Emissions C02: EUR 0.90 / GR.
- 101-120 Emissions C02: EUR 0.98 / GR.
- 121-140 C02 emissions: 1.20 euros / g.
- 141-160 C02 emissions: 1.85 euros / g.
- 161-180 C02 emissions: 2.45 euros / g.
- 181-200 broadcasts C02: 2.78 euros / g.
- 201-250 broadcasts C02: 3.05 euros / g.
- 251 C02 or more: 3.72 euros / g.
Based on the above for cars with 130 g emissions. CO₂ fees are 156 euros for a car with 180 g/km emissions. CO₂ The amount is 441 euros.
For sorting from 1.1.2021 until today
- 0-122 cubic meters: 0
- 123-139 Emissions C02: EUR 0.64 / GR.
- 140-166 C02 emissions: 0.70 euros / g.
- 167- 208 C02 broadcasts: 0.85 euros / g.
- 209-224 Emissions C02: 1.87 euros / GR.
- 225-240 C02 emissions: 2.20 euros / g.
- 241-260 C02 emissions: 2.50 euros / g.
- 261-280 C02 emissions: 2.70 euros / g.

The fines
As for the fines, for unpaid traffic charges, if the penalty is paid in January, the penalty is set at 25% of the value of the fees, if they are paid in February 50% while those who pay for late March 1 will be charged 100% of the fees.
However, in any case the fine may not be less than 30 euros. For example, for a € 200 traffic fees that will be paid January 2026, the amount is increased to 250 euros if they pay them in February 2026 to 300 euros and from March 2026 to 400 euros.
For the end of € 280 to be paid in January 2026, the fine will be EUR 70 and the total amount of EUR 350, in February 2026, amounts to EUR 140 and the total debt of EUR 420 and from March 2026 and after the fine is EUR 280 and the total debt of EUR 560.
State revenue from traffic charges will amount to at least € 1.2 billion in 2026.
Declaration of immobilization
On December 31, 2025, the deadline for owners who want to stand their vehicles, saving the new year’s traffic charges, however, with the opportunity to pay fees by the month from April.
The vehicle’s immobility declaration is now electronically, via the MyCar platform, without the need to visit the tax office.
Based on the procedure, interested parties will have to register the vehicle registration number they wish to put into immobility, PC. of the area, the street and the number and to declare the parking lot, which must be privately owned, rented or assigned. If there are co -owners, they are informed of the request that they must approve to complete the procedure.
It should be noted that if it is found that the vehicle stated in a state of immobility, the holder is confronted with a fine of twice the traffic charges and a standalone penalty of 10,000 euros, while in the event of a recurrence the fine is tripled to 30,000 euros and is deducted for three years.
