Decrease 2.9% was noted by industrial production in Greece in August, and the production of manufacturing industries decreased 0.8%, according to its data ELSTAT.
The General Industrial Production Index declined 2.9% in August 2025 compared to the corresponding index of August 2024, compared to a 3.6% increase in the corresponding comparison in 2024 to 2023, ELSTAT says.
This development came from the following changes in the Indicators’ Indicators:
By the reduction:
- 8.9% of the electricity supply index.
- By 6.8% of the water supply index.
- By 0.8% of the processing index. The highest percentage decrease was recorded in the production of basic pharmaceuticals and pharmaceuticals, while the highest percentage increase was recorded in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment.
By the increase:
- By 2.4% of the mines-quarry index.
At average in the 8 months, the General Index declined 0.1% compared to the corresponding index of January – August 2024. While the seasonally corrected general index decreased 4.1% in August 2025 compared to the July 2025 index.
