This is an important initiative to upgrade the drivers’ driving behavior, which is being carried out in the context of the cooperation of the Ministries of National Economy and Finance, Digital Governance, Infrastructure and Transport and Citizen Protection and the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE).
Alerts for non -compliance and payment fees are sent first.
More specifically they are sent directly:
- 100.971 notifications to citizens and 7,810 to legal entities, in total 108.781 for non -insurance compliance.
- 101.721 Citizens’ notifications and 8,316 to legal entities, in total 110.037, relating to non -compliance with traffic fees.
Citizens and representatives of legal entities are informed through SMS, email or mail, depending on the available contact details kept in the public registers. Specifically, the citizens who have entered in the National Register of Communication (emep.gov.gr) Their contact information will receive SMS and email from the General Secretariat of Information Systems and Digital Government, while others will be notified by email from AADE. In the few cases where it is not possible to communicate with any of the aforementioned ways, mail notifications will be sent.
Interested parties can be informed of the results of cross -checks on their vehicle, either through gov.gr in the category ‘Assets and taxation»And in the subcategory”Vehicles», Either directly to oximata.gov.gr. The purpose of the first phase is for citizens to be informed of compliance omissions identified with a reference date on August 25, 2025, in order to comply with the obligation to pay for traffic fees and vehicle insurance within 15 days.
With the prevalence of the 15 -day period and the completion of re -intersecting checks, the citizens and legal entities who have not complied will receive alerts with the certified fines through the aforementioned ways (SMS, Mail, Post).
In case of uninsured vehicle fines will range from 250 to 1,000 euros Depending on the type of vehicle. The amount of fines in cases of non -payment of traffic charges varies on the basis of the vehicle category.
Cross -checks are carried out by the General Secretariat of Information Systems and Digital Government of the Ministry of Digital Governance in cooperation with the Ministries of National Economy and Finance, Infrastructure and Transport and Citizen Protection and AADE, under the coordination of the President of the Government, and by the Coordination of the Government.
It is noted that, for the first time, there is a intersection of vehicles from all the registries of the relevant bodies, which to date have significant deviations, often causing hassle for citizens. This feature was achieved through the process of checking, cleaning and homogenizing the data.
The action aspires to permanently lift the problems arising from the lack of common image, to create a single mechanism for keeping the owners’ obligations and to form a stable and reliable framework for the safe traffic of vehicles.
