The mayors of Central Greece who participated in the meeting highlighted the need to clarify the roles and to have more confidence in the local government, which best knows the particularities of each region. At the same time, they demanded to clear the landscape around the flood protection projects so that the prevention could acquire substance and content.
During the meeting, proposals were presented by the mayors of Central Greece, which are expected to be elaborated by the relevant ministry services. Overall, representatives of the Local Government have requested more training for voluntary groups, activating the population and reinforcing civil protection structures, and found that the operation of the emergency number 112 was moving in the right direction.
The minister’s presence in Lamia signifies, according to government sources, the launch of a series of regional visits, with the aim of on -the -spot recording of needs and ensuring business readiness across the country.
