AADE ‘Alarm Center’ for arrears with pop – ups and phone calls

In the next period the AADE will call 60,000 debtors with overdue debtspushing them to settle their debts to the tax office, according to an ERTNEWS report.

Specifically, AADE will focus on those who have overdue debts for the first time and are going to be targeted by the Audit mechanism, while the Authority will open a new timely notice system for taxpayers to settle their pending issues.

The new early notification system will be addressed mainly to those who leave for the last minute the payment of a tax or installment of a regulation or the submission of a declaration.

With a series of pop-ups, AADE will warn debtors for their arrears, enabling them to avoid fines and surcharges.

According to AADE’s operational plan for 2025, notifications will concern:

  • Food on tax liabilities expiry dates.
  • Residual installments from debt arrangements.
  • Pending statements.
  • Update messages for any tax refunds.

Popular emails will appear on computers, laptops and mobile phones, either automatically or after the user’s related action.

The promoted system is part of AADE’s strategy for the digital transformation of tax administration and to enhance tax compliance through technological solutions. The implementation of the early notice system is estimated to limit the delays to payments and help reduce the overdue debts that have increased to 108.5 billion euros and the consequent fines, as taxpayers will now have an additional mechanism for reminding their liabilities.

Before March expires- in the context of this project- the website is expected to operate, which will be a single information point for taxpayers, businesses and executives of AADE, providing faster and easier access to the applicable tax and customs law.

At the same time, the AADE Action Plan to quickly terminate tax affairs and better informing the citizens:

  • Expansion of the existing Taxpayer Service Center (CCC) to join this set of AADE (central and regional) services.
  • Ability to automated changes in business and legal entities (seat, CAD, branches, etc.) and change of legal entities and legal entities that cannot be completed through the myaade digital portal (statutory changes such as representation, members, etc.).
  • Automatically update taxpayers’ registry by interconnection with the General Commercial Registry (GEMI) (EIA, IKE).
  • Web Service with credit institutions for restriction.
  • Simplification and digitization of the process of exporting commercial goods for up to EUR 1,000, mainly through courier companies.
  • Informing the heirs of deceased about their obligations.
  • Digitization of a process for the granting of traffic charges to disabled.
  • Codification and integration of income and capital tax legislation, VAT, stamp taxation, tax procedures, public revenue collection and customs code and free access to the content starting from a common exclusive website of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Finance.
