Shock causes the murder of a judge and the injury to 2 more people who were reported Monday (06.10.2025) at Albaniaduring a trial in a court in Tirana.
The perpetrator of the murder of the Judge of the Astrit Court of Appeal Kalaja was a man whose trial was ongoing in the Albanian capital of Tirana. According to Albanian police, the 30 -year -old perpetrator who opened fire was arrested after pursuing.
“The judge was rushed to the hospital, but succumbed to his wounds on his way,” police said in a statement.
The other two involved in the trial, a father and his son were also shot and taken to the hospital, but their condition is stable.
Police arrested the 30 -year -old after a pursuit after he managed to escape after the shootings, and the revolver he allegedly used was found.
According to reports from the Albanian press, the case concerned a difference for real estate.
The man shot the judge because he knew he would lose the trial.
Following the radical changes to the judicial system that began in 2016 with the support of the EU and the US, tens of thousands of cases in Albania have been delayed for years.
