Athenian – Panathinaikos At the Ergani Indoor Gym in Byron, for the 1st A1 Women’s Basketball Center! The tension began when the “Greens” coach, Selne Erdem, was eliminated from the match, obviously irritated by the referees’ decisions.
Panathinaikos’ coach reacted strongly and it took time to leave the parquet and go to the locker room, as she could not contain her nerves.
With 3 minutes and 20 seconds left for the end and score at 67-59 in favor of Athenian, the match was temporarily interrupted when a fan of one of the three referees of the match (Spyropoulos, Kalogria, Leventakos).
The referees left immediately to the locker room, interrupting the match for several minutes. During the break, Panathinaikos fans were asked to move two rows further on the platform in order to continue the match.
The players of the two teams were forced to return to warm -up, waiting for the arbitral trinity’s decision to follow the match of the A1 women’s basketball premiere.
