Will not be lost either euro from Recovery fundassured the Deputy Minister of Finance Nikos Papathanassis Speaking to SKAI.
Nikos Papathanassis responded to reports clarified that Projects of the Recovery Fund will be transferred to other financial tools so as not to lose resources.
The program concludes in August 2026 without extension and until then the projects must be completed. According to Nikos Papathanassis, about 50% of the mountains have already been implemented, compared to about 40% of the community average. The rail infrastructure is not withdrawn nor the renovation of hospitals.
He said that the projects would be done at 100% for 80 hospitals and 156 health centers. The social residence remains in the fund, with a budget of 2 billion euros, and is running well.
At the same time, flood protection projects and irrigation will be transferred to the NSRF. Projects such as the Apollo program can come out of the fund, with resources available to interventions that can be completed within a timetable.
Papathanassis reiterated that “not a single euro” would be lost and that the government would fully utilize all alternative funding tools where required.
