Dramatic moments pass the inhabitants in Odessa of Ukraine where 9 people, among them a child lost their lives because of the heavy rainfall, Rescue services announced today.
“All night rescuers have helped to unleash people who had been trapped by floods, car movement and pumping waters from buildings,” the Telegram of the rainfall in Odessa said.
The images coming from Odessa shock, as efforts to save people from rushing waters are desperate.
At the same time, the service published photos showing cars immersed in the water, as well as rescuers helping citizens get rid of a flooded bus. A total of assistance was provided to 362 people, the service noted.
The mayor of Odessa Gennadi Trouhanov had stated over the night that in seven hours a quantity of water fell in the city of water which was normally recorded in two months. “No network of rainwater can withstand such volume,” he added.
