Heraklion MP Lefteris Avgenakis sent an out -of -court statement to his president “Democracy Movement” Mr. Stefanos Kasselakis, which concerns Mr Kasselakis’ statement on reporting before the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) on allegedly “unexplained revenue” of more than EUR 1,200,000 in the Mr Avgenakis’ asset statement (“Wherever you are”) for the year 2024.
THE K. Avgenakis speaks of ‘straight distortion of truth, in order to challenge politics and Personal harm »and calls Mr. Kasselakis “Recall his post and false allegations,” to remove it directly from social media. He also calls on him to make a written statement of failure to repeat similar offensive reports in the future, otherwise he reserves the reservation of any legal right.
Following is the out -of -court statement by Mr. Avgenakis:
With this out -of -court statement, I let you know my strong protest about your public posting content on your personal accounts on social media (Facebook, Χ, TikTok, Instagram), published on September 30, 2025 and was widely reproduced on other social media and electronic media.
Your post states that I allegedly submitted “a reference to the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) for unexplained revenue of more than € 1,200,000 in my asset declaration (” wherever you are “) for 2024”. Specifically mention:
“Today, as I promised yesterday I went to the European Public Prosecutor’s Office. I submitted a report of Lefteris Avgenakis’ 2023, which shows revenue – without explanation – over 1.2 million Euro. Revenue created when he was Minister of Rural Development. They must be investigated as part of the OPECEPE case file. The mockery of the Greek taxpayer’s money is coming! “
The above statement contains false, unfounded and slanderous allegations, which affect my honor and reputation, as well as the prestige of the House.
To restore the truth I point out the following:
- My declared net income from employed services amount to EUR 34,884.17 (tax year 2023).
- The amount of EUR 580,000 comes from the sale of property and is not income from salaries or remuneration.
- The remaining amounts deposited in bank accounts (25,304.72 € and € 13,443.73) are legally declared income and do not constitute a “accumulation of millions of funds”.
- Much of my real estate was acquired through inheritance or parental benefit, excluding the creation of “new wealth”.
- There are declared loan liabilities, which are guaranteed for loan 2012 and 2014, which have been repaid by legal proceedings.
