September 21st, World Anti -Alzheimer’s Day, turns the lights on progress that science science about the disease that affects millions of families around the world year by year. The disease affects memory, thought and behavior, making the daily lives of patients gradually more difficult.
In our country, it has been estimated that about 400,000 people live in some form of dementia, which highlights the need for better prevention, early diagnosis and more effective therapies. In this field, the Greek company Biokosmos starred in research and production of innovative pharmaceuticals.
The power of innovation
With experience that has surpassed thirty years in nuclear medicine, Biokosmos has contributed to the progress of cancer diagnosis by introducing PET/CT in Greece and developing innovative radio. Today, however, it continues to open new paths in the field of neurology.
From the beginning of 2024, the company has one of the three licensed medicines internationally for the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s in the Greek market. This new imaging tool enables doctors to detect the disease in a timely manner and safely, offering a new perspective to those who are ill.
