The spokesman of the press PASOK-Main of Change, Costas Tsoukalas, talking to ERTnewshe commented sharply the cancellation of the Prime Minister’s meeting with Recep Tayyip Erdogan, referring to an “trap” of Ankara and serious mistakes in preparing the Greek side.
‘Wrong picture by the Prime Minister’
Mr Tsoukalas emphasized that the cancellation of “at five” proved that the prime minister had a “wrong picture”, believing that the Turkish president wanted the meeting, while in fact “a trap”.
“This disrespect for the prime minister who hurt us all as Greeks, because it hurts Greece, could have been foreseen if the Foreign Ministry had acted and the staff more organized and correctly. We called this amateurism, “he noted.
‘Attempting to depreciate the Prime Minister’
According to PASOK’s spokesman, “there was a clear trap, it was Turkey’s decision to annul – it tried to essentially depreciate the Prime Minister and Greece.”
He questioned: “What should we say what was nice? Let’s not say that there was wrong preparation? It’s a given. “
“Victim of fraudulent deception Greece”
Mr Tsoukalas expressed PASOK’s concern about the broader image that is emitted internationally, stressing:
“When Turkey had not announced the meeting while we had announced it, does it not put you in thoughts? Here it appeared that we fell victim to a fraudulent deception from Turkey – well, it’s not a nice picture. “
‘Parade of challenges by Erdogan’
Referring to Ankara in general, Mr. Tsoukalas said:
“Erdogan is now making a parade of challenges, raised the issue of partition, a question that nothing can be done in the Eastern Mediterranean without his permission, and also meeting Trump, who told him he would get the F-35s.”
According to him, “the image of a president who is going and seeing everyone, while not seeing our own prime minister, shows that Turkey has installed much more powerful diplomatically and has been arranged against us the bargaining balance.”
Criticism to Government for Energy and Cyprus
PASOK’s spokesman also referred to the issue of energy, noting that his party criticized “to the point”.
“When Chevron goes on, we say it’s positive, it’s late but it’s positive. But when we do not push the cable, one year passes and we throw them into Cyprus, it is negative. It is not a nice picture for our government to go to throw responsibility in Cyprus. I don’t like it as a Greek, “he said.
Scandal – “Milonakis to be dismissed”
Mr Tsoukalas also stood in recent revelations about the surveillance, referring to a complaint by MP Marios Salma.
“Mr Salmas said Mr Boukoros was confused that the Deputy Minister of State Mr. Mylonakis was the one who called him and told him that he was in the way. That is why he cannot remain a minister. So I think the secret must end, “he said.
He made it clear that “Mr Mylonakis Minister cannot remain” Minister “and called for” to be rejected today “.
