Falling temperatures and “jackets” in the morning hours
From Friday September 26th, mercury will gradually decline by 6 to 8 degrees. According to forecasts, next week the temperature will not exceed their 24-25 degrees Celsiuscreating a more autumnal feeling. Residents will now need light jackets, especially in the morning and evening.
Strong Bormans in the Aegean
At the same time Friday and Saturday Strong north winds are expected, with intensity that will reach 8 beaufort in the Aegean. These conditions may cause maritime transport difficulties and increase the risk of problems on ferry routes.
From Saturday night to Sunday afternoon, western Greece will be severely accepted with strong thunderstorms. The increased amount of rain, although beneficial to the environment, may cause problems: flood episodes in lowland areas,
landslides in mountainous and semi -mountainous zones, especially in Western and central Peloponnese, southern and central Ionian and Aitoloakarnania.
As the meteorologist notes, the ideal scenario is to reach the bulk of the water at sea, thereby limiting the negative effects.
Extension of rain to more areas
On Sunday 28th and Monday, September 29, the rains will extend to other continental parts of the country as well as to Crete. There, however, according to the prognosis, the phenomena will be beneficial and harmless.
On the contrary, Attica, Thrace and the Aegean may be influenced by the new wave of bad weather.
The Rex Blocking phenomenon is known for its perseverance, as it blocks the normal circulation of the atmosphere and “traps” low pressure systems in our area. As a result, the autumn setting remains for several days, with no quick changes in the weather.
