The President of France Emmanuel Macron said the recognition of the Palestinian state does not mean that it forgets its long attack Hamas in Israel in October 2023.
Emmanuel Macron made this comment to reporters about Hamas, with US President Donald Trump next to him during their bilateral meeting.
Trump has condemned the decisions of Western countries, including France, to recognize the Palestinian state, arguing that it is equivalent to a reward for Hamas’ horrific cruelty.
The French president told his US counterpart that the military solution “does not work” in order to defeat Hamas in Gaza. The Israelis “killed Hamas’ main leaders. This works. But it is a great success at the same time, we have as many Hamas fighters as the first day, “he said.
“Therefore, this does not work for Hamas dislocation. It is not the right way to work. We therefore need a complete process and work very hard for the next day, ”he concluded

A little earlier, Trump reiterated that he wanted to end the war in Gaza and to release all hostages.
He also appeared optimistic that the meeting that will later have the leaders of Arab and Muslim countries, who will present the American plan to end the war, would be successful.
