A warning of the danger of political exploitation by the constant creation of false allegations of families by the Tempe crash was addressed by the Minister of Justice, George Floridisstressing that “it can endanger democracy itself”.
In his greeting at the Conference “Justice: Foundation for Development & Welfare”, held at Athens Conservatory He emphasized that “we are again in front of an attempt to depreciate justice as an institution.”
Referring to comments that the government can guide justice with a “nod”, he noted: “If this is the case, then our justice has a question. No minister can do the slightest. “Make a nod and she will hear” – this wording is offensive, as if justice officials are puppets. ” As he added, it is “derogatory behavior towards people who have been set to serve the institution”.
He stressed that justice operates with clear and institutionalized procedures and that it is “a big lie to consider that they have been rejected that still have been rejected”.
He acknowledged that any delays exist because “justice is not political, it does not respond with slogans but with documentation, with depth and adequacy in every request”.
The minister spoke of an organized attempt to depreciate justice, noting that “the people are not sitting to do analyzes when the political forces themselves question the institution, then the impression that something bad exists there.” He made it clear that “the position and attitude of the government is that justice must work completely independently”.
At the beginning of his speech he referred to the reforms that have begun, saying that they are called upon to prove that “the independent time of Greek justice is reformed”.
He spoke of the first positive effects of the judicial map, which “changed data that delayed over a century”, heralded major changes to inheritance law by the end of the year, and also amendments to criminal codes that “re -establish security and crime”.
The Conference is co -organized by the Council of State, the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Court of Auditors, the Association of Business and Industry (BSE), the Association of Bar companies (SEDE) and the National and Kapodistrian University.
