Employees in the port of Ravenna, in collaboration with the local government, carried out an unprecedented action, preventing the loading of two ammunition containers destined for Israel.
According to the Italian press, the two ammunition containers came from the Czech Republic and Hungary and were to be transported via Ravenas to Haifa by ship from Zim.
Port workers refused to load, while Ravenna mayor Alessandro Baratoni announced that the containers were removed from the port, thanking all those who contributed to it.
He said that “he was informed that the trucks carrying the containers were removed from the port” and stressed the success of their action.
In the same direction, the mayor expressed the support of workers and the local community in such an initiative, which appears to be aimed at preventing possible weapons.
For his part, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tayyani assured that his country “does not send Italian weapons to Israel”, as he regretted any Italian involvement in such transport.
“I know nothing about what happened in Ravenen because they are not Italian weapons and ammunition. I am sorry, we did not send Italian weapons to Israel, “the Italian Foreign Minister said in response to a question from the opposition during his intervention in the Senate of Rome.
