In Brussels the Minister of Environment and Energy Stavros Papastavrouwhere today and tomorrow, Thursday, September 18th, he will participate in the Extraordinary Council of Ministers of Environment and Energy of the European Union on “Amendment of the European Climate Law to establish a binding climate target for 2040”.
Mr. Papastavrou will have a series of contacts with European Commissioners, namely with the Commissioner of Fisheries and Ocean, Mr. Costas Kadi, who will inform today of the ongoing consultation of the National Marine Parks of the South Aegean 1-Cyclades and Ionian Sea.
It will then take part in the meeting – in the face of tomorrow’s Council – the Ministers of Environment of the European People’s Party (EPP), chaired by the Commissioner for the Climate, the Zero Balance of Emissions and the Net Development, Mr Wopke Hoekstra.
Finally, the Minister of Environment and Energy will meet tomorrow with the Energy and Housing Commissioner, Mr. Dan Jørgensen.
