To 8.1 billion euros, increased the primary surplus of the state budget in the eight months of January – August 2025 compared to the corresponding period last year (4.9 billion euros) on a cash basis, as reported by the Bank of Greece (BCT).
According to BoG data, the increase in primary surplus by about 65%reflects both the increase in regular budget tax revenue to € 46.7 billion versus € 43.3 billion last year, and the increase in its spending to € 42.2 billion from € 38.8 billion.
The result of the central administration showed a surplus of € 1.7 billion against a surplus of € 1.36 billion in the corresponding period of 2024.
Surplus also 2 billion height. The state budget was stated against a deficit of EUR 929 million in the corresponding period last year.
Finally, the expenditure on interest paid by the budget for public debt service was increased to € 6.1 billion versus € 5.8 billion last year.
