Parliament: Elected the Bureau of the Inquiry Committee on the OPECEPE case

All opposition parties voted “white”, except for Niki MP Nikos Brettou

Their Bureau was elected by 31 members of Inquiry Committee, that will investigate any responsibilities for the his case OPECEPE and the illegal subsidies, whose work begins tomorrow Wednesday, September 17th.

One of the first issues of the Commission will be the drawing up of the witness list of the parties, as well as the documents they will request to be submitted.

To The Bureau of the Inquiry Committee were elected ND MP Andreas Nikolakopoulos with 18 positive votes (President), MP West. ND’s Athens Division, Maria Syrengela with 17 votes (Vice President), and ND State MP Ioanna Lyrivi with 17 votes (Secretary).

It is noted that the opposition’s proposal for the election of an inter -party bureau was rejected by the government majority, which argued that the procedures for the election of the presidency of the Standing Committees were followed.

All opposition parties voted “white”, except for Niki MP Nikos Brettouwho voted in favor of the President of the Commission, Mr. Nikolakopoulos.

He, justifying his vote, said that he recognizes the right of the majority to have his own president in the examination but, as he said, the other two members should be from the opposition.

The first meeting of the OPECEPE Commission was chaired by the First Vice President of the House Yiannis Plakiotakis, who replaced – for formal reasons – the President of the Plenary Corps Nikita Kaklamanis who had his nominal feast.
