For the 82nd anniversary of the island’s liberation
The President of the Republic Konstantinos Tasoulas Today attended the festivities organized by the Municipality of Megisti for the 82nd anniversary of Kastellorizo’s liberation.
Mr. Tasoulas, after the doxology at the Church of Saints Constantine and Helen and the laying of a wreath at the Monument to the Fallen, made the following statement:
“With a deep sense of honor and national responsibility, I am today at the easternmost end of Greece and the Archipelago, in the Akritos Kastellorizo, to honor the historical anniversary of its liberation on September 13, 1943. Here, in Kastellorizo, on that day, on that day,” It waves, scattering the chills of excitement and emotion to the residents and sending a message of hope and resistance throughout Greece and Hellenism.
In Castellorizo, the irresistible, the unstoppable bastion of Hellenism, the national uplift is not just two words. It is an experience, which is transmitted from generation to generation and that reaches today. The liberation of Kastellorizo, the first Greek territory released during the World War Immediately after Italy’s capitulation, its liberation, therefore, is justified by this national uplift. The freedom, independence and sovereignty brought about by liberation, immediately after integration into the national trunk, are yet another justification. The pride and courage with which they face threats and challenges are also justified by this attitude that dominates Kastellorizo here. And what is the wider conclusion of this psyche? That Greece does not threaten but is not threatened!
The 82nd Anniversary of the Liberation of the Kastellorizo island complex sends the same message for the 82nd.
This freedom, this sovereignty, these sovereign rights, this independence we have gained with so many sacrifices, we are determined, united as a people, to defend against any pervasive, who wants to challenge them or threaten them. And now and forever.
Happy birthday from the acrimonious Castellorizo, this day, the anniversary of his liberation! “
A visit was followed by the President of the Republic to the “Danielos” rocket, the EIA reported.
Subsequently, Mr. Tasoulas went to the island of Rome, where he laid a wreath at the “Lady of Rome” monument and visited the island’s surveillance guard. In his conversation with the head and staff of the prison he expressed his warmest thanks for the dedication with which they perform their mission and the services they offer to the homeland. It is noted that the stone surveillance of Rome, inaugurated in May, was funded by the Hellenic Parliament under Mr Tasoula’s presidency.
