The “orgasm” that took place in previous years for Renewable Energy Sources (RES) licenses (RES) has now been subjected, as there is already a huge tail of projects, mainly Aeolian and photovoltaicwaiting to connect to the network.
According to data presented yesterday at the TIF, the Energy Regulatory Authority was granted a total of 110 GW projects all the past years. Naturally, much of these investments did not proceed, so Raev has ceased or recalling 41.8 GW, which again concern mainly wind -photovoltaic projects.
From the remaining projects, if we add the units that combine battery storage, we reach a total of 80 GW.
Of these, 15 GW are in operation, 15 GW have taken definitive connection terms and are waiting to enter the system, while 50 GW are at an earlier licensing stage.
In order to have a comparison measure, the electricity site today in our country is 19 GW and in 2030 is projected to boost 30 GW through ADMIE and DEDDIE investments.
From the above it becomes obvious that it makes no sense to add other RES to the licensing tail, which has been well understood by aspiring investors. Indicatively, applications for new photovoltaics fell this June to 0.05 GW, from 41.8 GW submitted in December 2020.
The decrease is also visible in winds, where there is a 65% drop in applications compared to last year, from 618 MW to 214 MW.
