A huge misfortune for Theophanes Bakoula, who was seriously injured in the National Hope’s away match against Malta last Tuesday (09.09.2025) in Ta Kali. The 20 -year -old international midfielder, struggling as borrowing at Rio Aves by Olympiche suffered a total breakfast rupture on his right knee and is now very likely to lose all the rest of this season.
The news was published by the Portuguese team in its official announcement on Thursday afternoon (11/9). Rio Aves reports in her announcement:
“The young midfielder Theofanis Bakoulas, 20, suffered a serious injury while competing with the national team under 21 in a qualifying match for the European Championships under 21 against Malta, held last Tuesday.
After evaluating the Health and Performance Department of Rio Aves, with subsequent auxiliary diagnostic tests, it was confirmed that Bakoulas had a total rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament on the right knee, which would require surgery, thus at risk of 205.
