With all the material attack on the government, but also on the other opposition parties, the Secretary General of the KKE Central Committee, Dimitris Koutsoubashe presented from the TIF step the radically different proposal of his party, stressing that “only a new productive model is socialism”.
Mr Koutsoubas described the prime minister’s announcements as “completely false”, arguing that any tax breaks have already been “two and three times” through indirect taxes. He even cited the primary surplus of € 7.96 billion in the first seven months of 2025 – twice the target – as a proof of “huge taxation”, from which the government, he said, returns to citizens at just 1.7 billion euros. “It is a state that it takes from many to give it to the few,” he said.
‘The only solution is socialism’
In the face of this policy, Mr Koutsoubas suggested the path of the KKE, which, he said, is “the abolition of capitalist property and the unseen profit. It is the path of labor power, popular governance, socialism. “
“Other Other Other”
At the same time, it launched a fire against other opposition parties. He argued that the government does not “play without an opponent” because of the breakdown, but because all the other parties accept the country’s strategic commitments against “in the EU, in NATO and in the big capital”. “When you accept these,” he said, “you end up complaining that the prime minister is copying your proposals, as PASOK does all the time.”
In target health and education
The KKE Secretary -General used examples from Thessaloniki to support its criticism, especially in the health sector. He said 22 of the city’s 70 surgical rooms remain closed due to lack of staff, while Papageorgiou Hospital is profitable of 33m euros. “We are talking about vulgarity to have profits from people’s pain,” he noted.
Finally, he described the “National Baccalaureate” as a “class abortion” that would only benefit “education” and private universities, calling on the people not to wait for solutions from “supposedly Messiahs”, but to seek the overthrow of this policy.
