The facilities of Elefsina Shipyard The Minister of Development, Takis Theodorikakos, visited today (11.9.2025), where he met with US Interior Minister Doug Bergam.
The Minister of Environment and Energy, Stavros Papastavrou, the Minister of Maritime and Island Policy, Vassilis Kikilias and the US Embassy, Josh Khak, were also present at the Elefsina Shipyards, Stavros Papastavrou, Minister of Maritime and Island Policy. They were welcomed by Panos Xenokostas, President and Managing Director of Onex Shipyards & Technologies.
They toured the premises and were informed by the company’s management of the course of the investment, as well as the prospects of further development of Elefsina shipyards.
Mr. Theodorikakos – in his meeting with Mr. Bergam, where the Secretary General was present. Private investment, Stellina Siarapi – highlighted strategic cooperation with the state -owned US DFC Development Bank, which invested 125m euros in Eleusis Shipyards.
He also pointed out the initiatives of the Ministry of Development for Renaissance of shipbuilding industry by joining strategic investment. And he added that he is positively facing the prospects for wider exploitation of the site as a port, commercial and transit center.
At the same time, he also underlined the Prime Minister’s announcement at the TIF for a separate regime, under the responsibility of the Ministry of Development, for new incentives in the defense industry and the possibilities of Greek -American cooperation in this area.
