At 3.54 billion euros the debt of Public To individuals last July, enhancing the liquidity problem for suppliers and especially small businesses.
According to the Ministry of Finance, government debts stood at € 3.54 billion (including pending tax refunds), with the highest volume involving the debts of hospitals and insurance funds, due to pending pensions (mainly an auxiliary).
Public hospitals owe € 1,498 billion to suppliers, a reduced by 101m euros compared to June but increased by EUR 334 million compared to the beginning of the year.
The debts of the insurance funds amounted to EUR 623 million, increased by € 11 million in one month and by € 38 million compared to the end of 2024. The pending mainly delays in the issuance of main and auxiliary pensions, while it is recalled that in 2017 the respective debts were hit.
The debts of the Local Government Organizations (Municipalities, Regions) were down, reaching € 247 million. Debts of the State Legal Entities remained unchanged at 222 million euros.
The pending tax refunds increased by € 10m in one month and stood at € 732m in July from € 722m in June.
Of these:
- EUR 329 million relate to refunds delaying over 90 days,
- EUR 403 million pending for less than 90 days,
- EUR 218 million remains unmoved as AADE is still looking for taxpayers who are entitled to the amounts. These refunds are stagnant to the drawers of the tax administration due to the non -response of the beneficiaries or the non -submission of the necessary supporting documents.
- Of the € 732 million pending tax refunds, € 221 million is direct taxes, 389 million euros are indirect taxes and € 115 million is derived from non -tax revenue.
