In the “very bold tax reform” announced by the TIF and aims to “reduce taxes, we increase wages” the prime minister said Kyriakos Mitsotakis At the meeting he had on Tuesday morning with the President of the Republic, Constantine Tasoula.

As he said, among other things, ‘We are pleased to be able to be able to to reduce taxes and increase expenditure. Expectation is every year that the development surplus is returned to society in a fair manner and with respect to fiscal rules. “

For his part, Mr. Tasoulas commented “fortunately the economy allows such openings”, making special reference to the need for political stability.

“The main thing is that these measures come from our potential and not from the desire to be liked,” he added. President of the Republic.

Mitsotakis statements

Starting his position, Mr Mitsotakis told Mr Tasoula that “at the TIF I had the opportunity to describe a program of intervention to support society in accordance with accuracy.”

“It is the government’s choice to channel the fiscal space from the surplus of growth and the fight against tax evasion,” the prime minister continued, referring to a “very bold tax reform with one target: we reduce taxes, we increase wages in a different way.”

Mr. Mitsotakis also referred to the “emphasis we give to children as the more children the greater the tax relief” and the “significant intervention in youth”.

He also stood in the initiative for the Greek region with the abolition of ENFIA in all villages with below 1,500 inhabitants. It is the least we can do to support the Region “but also in” VAT reducing VAT in the islands. I recall that with the relevant Community directive we did so for the 5 islands that lifted the weight of the migration. “

“We are pleased to be able to reduce taxes and increase expenses. It is a crown of economic policy. Expectation is for the development of a growth surplus every year to be returned to society in a fair manner and with respect to the budgetary rules, “Kyriakos Mitsotakis added.

Finally, he noted that “the increases will be seen from January 1, 2026”, he recalled that “we have already announced 1.5 billion measures that will be seen in November.”

On the occasion, “as of today in 1951 we had elections in Greece that did not give stability and self -sufficiency while development began after 1952 when we had autonomous governments and Greece left the logic of Psorokostaina”, Mr. Tasoulas emphasized that “this is a political stability and the political stability. President of the Republic to dismantle the House if two governments are voted down and political stability is not guaranteed. ”

“Most importantly, these measures come from our potential and not from the desire to be liked,” the President of the Republic concluded.

All Mitsotaki-Tower Dialogue

Konstantinos Tasoulas: Good morning, Mr President, good week.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis: Mr President, good morning. To say good autumn.

Konstantinos Tasoulas: Good time, so it is said, so as not to forget the word summer and it is difficult for us.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis: Yes, I think we are not psychologically ready to say good autumn.

Konstantinos Tasoulas: Exactly, words serve psychology.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis: As you know, the political time officially begins with the prime minister’s announcements at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition and I had the opportunity in both speech and interview to describe a framework for very bold interventions aimed at, Mr. President, in support of the Greek society.

And the government’s choice was to channel the fiscal space created by the surplus of growth and fighting tax evasion, in a different, more targeted way, and to essentially make a very bold tax reform, which has a central purpose: we reduce taxes.

But we do it in a different way than what happened in the past, giving much more emphasis to families with children: the more children a family has, the greater the tax relief, so the higher the net salary of the household.

We make a very targeted and important youth intervention. I find it very important that any young person under 25 works and has an income of up to 20,000 euros will actually pay no tax, while for young people from 25 to 30 the tax rate drops from 22% to 9%. We are talking about significant reliefs, significant increases in net salaries for our young fellow citizens who are working.

And, of course, I want to dwell, especially on an initiative that I am sure will also recognize its great national importance, which concerns the support of the Greek region and our decision within two years to abolish, to substantially reset ENFIA for the first residence in all Greek villages.

We are talking about more than 12,000 villages and settlements that will benefit from this arrangement. It is the least we can do to support the Greek region, to keep the citizens in the Greek region, but why not, to encourage more of our fellow citizens to leave the urban centers, to live in and work in the Greek region.

And, of course, our intervention is very important, which is about reducing VAT on our remote islands. I would like to remind you that under the relevant directive we only have this opportunity for the islands. We chose to do so for our remote islands from Samothraki to Kastelorizo for our remote islands. I think it is also a minimal return to our islanders, our Eastern Aegean Akritis, who are on the outside border not only of our country but also of the European Union.

So, in conclusion, we are in pleasure to other European countries to be able to reduce taxes and increase expenses and I think this is the crowning of a prudent economic policy, which will have depth and continuity.

Obviously, in our financial planning, our expectation is every year to be able to be able to return this development surplus, always in compliance with European fiscal rules, to return it to society in a fair manner, just as we do for 2026.

Our fellow citizens will see these increases in their net salaries since January 2026, from their first payroll.

And of course, to end by saying that we must not forget, we have already announced 1.5 billion meters of support for society since last May. In November when the low -income pensioners will see 250 euros in their account, permanent support, which is starting this year, and the tenants will see a whole rent to be returned to them as a measure of support for our home crisis, which is not affected by their homes.

Konstantinos Tasoulas: Mr President, I also watched, like all citizens, your announcements at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition, and as you rightly said with the Thessaloniki Exhibition, your own presence and the opposition leaders starting on Wednesday, and then we are in the new year of the new year. Youth for both retirees and for the large ones and for the classes you highlighted, who, who will be in Kalymnos on Thursday and on the 13th of the month in Kastellorizo for the anniversary of his liberation, will have the information and information of the 30% of his reducing VAT.

Mr President, the number one opponent of society right now is accuracy. And as you pointed out, the accuracy tools must be stable, they must be permanent and must withstand over time. And most of all they have to come from an economy that can suffer them. If our economy had not marked these performance, in terms of its surplus and in terms of fiscal space, I must say, though this is not so nice, that we should be more restrained. Fortunately, the successes and course of the economy allow these openings and it seems that with this amount, which is estimated to be around 1.76 billion euros of benefits, either positive benefits or by tax cuts, we have proof of the good economy and, above all, proof of discipline, which is without discipline, which is without discipline, reunites the adventures of the past.

Mr President today is an anniversary not known, I would say it would probably be indifferent if it is not linked to what you have told me to the word stability. Today in 1951 we had elections in Greece. And you will tell me what the elections of 1951 are important. In Greece, after the Occupation, after the Civil War, we had a period of political instability that ended in 1952. The 1951 elections did not give stability, they did not give self -sufficiency and it is impressive to think that the economic growth of Greece and the economic growth of Greece. And this began with the depreciation of the drachma and with other development measures, with balanced budgets, with surpluses, with a word with the housekeeping of the economy. And Greece escaped the fate of Psorokostaina. So it’s not just the budgetary stability, which I see how you care for and care as a pupil, and you do well, is also the political stability that has a meaning.

And at this point I would like to say that it is not only a kind of political reading or political pursuit of political stability, it is also a claim of constitutional impact. Article 41 of the Constitution and the responsibilities of the President of the Republic also include the possibility of dismantling the House if two governments are voted down and no political stability is guaranteed.

Consequently, there are measures that you have just given us now and most importantly that these measures come from our potential and not from our desire to become liked or our desire to enter an adventure that would temporarily relieve some more needs but would undermine this course.

Because let’s not forget, it is not only the deal of bankruptcy wounds and the ten -year economic crisis, it is also the need for part of the surplus to go to our debt repayment, which may not be directly related to the daily life of the citizen but has to do with the image of the country abroad, with our investment. Therefore, we have watched your announcements very interesting and await with the same interest and the announcements of the other party leaders, who will unfold from tomorrow, to give the slogan and kick of the new political period.
