The 3 production units of the Greek pharmaceutical industry Elpen At Pikermi and the new standard Research and Innovation Center in the field of Biomedical Technology at Spata, the Minister of Development visited today (9.9.2025). Takis Theodorikakos.
The investment has been integrated into strategic investment, it is supported by the Ministry of Development with € 14 million – grant and tax exemptions – and creates 1,600 new quality jobs. Together on the visit was the Secretary General of Private Investment, Stellina Siarapi. Mr. Theodorikakos toured the premises and was informed about the course of ELPEN’s extensive investment program, which includes upgrading the factory in Pikermi, the construction of a new production unit in Keratea, the operation of the Athens Lifetech Park in Spata and the establishment of the Mo.
The Minister of Development, Takis Theodorikakos, said in a statement: “Our vision, plan and strategy for a new productive model for the Greek economy is highlighted in the most intense and clear way in the strategic investment made by Elpen’s Greek pharmaceutical industry. It is an industry that has been starring in Greek industry in recent years, we support research, innovation, productivity, extroversion, thousands of new jobs. Through this investment, 1,600 new quality jobs are created and given young scientists to start their careers on very satisfying terms in terms of their income and quality of life. We continue our cooperation to get the money of Greek taxpayers. Elpen’s large investment is supported by an amount of EUR 14 million. We support healthy, creative entrepreneurship, which makes productive investment, makes new technologies come true in the homeland and creates thousands of jobs. “
Mr Theodorikakos also referred to the recovements of money for old investment projects: “We are recovering the money from those who have taken advances in the last 20 years, but did not complete their investments. Already 66m euros are heading to state funds and we are continuing the effort to secure money for serious productive purposes. “




For his part, Elpen’s Theodoros Tryfon, Co-Ceo, stressed after the end of the visit: «We were very pleased to welcome the Minister of Development, Mr. Takis Theodorikakos. We discussed in detail about the country’s new productive model and how there should be a strategy that will direct resources to companies that produce, export, innovate and contribute to new well -paid jobs. A guided tour of our three production units in Pikermi, where we employ 600 employees, as well as the large new innovation and biomedical technology park in Spata. We are starting and planning for the next five years, in collaboration with the State, on how state resources will be directed to where there is great domestic added value for the economy and society. “
