About 300,000- 400. 000 pensioners Of the total of 671,000 who maintain a personal difference, they will enter the end of the year in the circle of annual increases of pensions that are expected to rise to 2026 to 2.6%- 2.7%
The prime minister announced yesterday from the TIF step the abolition of personal difference in two installments, a measure that is considered iconic beyond tax relief. Thus, the personal difference will be reduced for these pensioners by 50% in 2026 while the remaining 50% will be abolished in 2027.
The measure immediately favored those who have a slight personal difference which will be reset with the set -off of growth.
That is, for example pensioner from IKA with 25 to 27 years of insurance receives a total pension of 883 euros with a personal difference of 40 euros. With her cut 50%, this pensioner will maintain a personal difference of 20 euros.
If the increase is calculated (suppose 2.7%) it will receive an additional 23.8 euros. It will therefore get a marginal net increase of 3.8 euros and will be able to expect the entire increase over time.
But according to the Ministry of Labor circles, even pensioners with a large personal difference will take half of the annual increase in 2026 in their pocket. Otherwise with the current regime they would have to wait 5-10 years to reset the personal difference. The largest personal difference of up to 450 euros is still recorded today by former UAE pensioners.
We note that pensioners with personal difference have been deprived of increases for three years, taking into place the personal difference of 100-200 euros last year.
The budgetary margins, as evidenced by the prime minister’s announcements, did not allow the instantly abolition of personal difference.
The measures also focused on tax breaks, so that it would not be possible to expand the criteria (age and income) in order to receive more low -income pension allowance of the 250 euro allowance established as a permanent measure from November.
What is the case today: 670,000 pensioners They received a personal difference of 100-200 euros last year as they had no right to receive increases. With the accounting increase every year due to the annual increases, these retirees left the accounting difference by paving the way to increases. It is estimated that about 90,000 pensioners are entitled to increases each year. According to the projections made by the competent services of EFKA, if the same rate of pensions continue, the next two years would zero their personal difference another 240,000 – 250,000 pensioners.
However, many hundreds of thousands still have a great personal difference would take 5 to 10 years to offset the personal difference with annual accounting increases and put under the umbrella of real pocket increases.
With the new measure of two-installment abolition, the time horizon is reduced from 5-10 years to two years so that in 2027 all pensioners have the right to receive pensions increases.
