“Earth Time 2025” is due to take place today, Saturday (22.3.2025) at 20:30 pm and will last until 21.30 pm
The world’s largest WWF campaign launched in 2007 will be attended by sights, important monuments, agencies, businesses and millions of citizens in more than 180 countries worldwide.
As part of the Athens Municipality’s initiative, the lights will turn off at the City Hall in Kotzia Square, at the Town Hall of Liosia Street, at the Town Hall of Patissia Street, Technopolis, at the Municipal Market of Kypseli, at the Museum
At the same time, the Municipality of Athens calls on the residents of Athens to participate in the symbolic initiative and turn off the lights in their homes for 60 minutes, sending their own loud message to protect the planet and dealing with climate change.
It is worth noting that “Earth Time 2025” in Greece is dedicated to the sea, which is directly intertwined with the quality of our lives and the existence of thousands of creatures.
“The sea is our home, our history, our survival and our summers. It is the home for unique species such as whale blowers, Caretta caretta turtles and Mediterranean seals.
Beaches and tourist destinations for every taste, underwater routes, travel at sea and Greek fishermen who have kept the thread of our tradition alive for centuries. This is only a taste of the rich mosaic of the Greek Sea, ”notes the WWF announcement.
