Reactions from South Korea
The South Korean Foreign Ministry has confirmed that there are South Korean citizens among the detainees, describing the business as a “unfair violation” of their rights. “The economic activities of the Korean investment companies and the rights of our citizens should not be violated unfairly during US authorities’ businesses,” he said in a statement, adding that he was sending diplomats to the site. The ministry also stressed that it expressed its concerns at the US Embassy in Seoul.
