By the Joint Ministerial Decision (JMD) published in the Government Gazette (Government Gazette) -B ‘4708/3.9.2025- veterinarian serving in the regions of the country are now integrated into the beneficiaries of allowance dangerous and unhealthy work.
The arrangement concerns the staff of the Veterinary and Veterinary Assistant Veterinary Assistants who work in the Organic Veterinary Units of the Regions (Departments of Rural Economy and Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Directorates, Primary Divisions, etc.). Beneficiaries are classified in Class A of the allowance, with a monthly compensation of 150 euros, while the application begins retroactively from January 1, 2025.
The Minister of Rural Development and Food, Costas Tsiaras said: “This decision is the substantial recognition of the work of the Veterinarians of the Regions, who are at the forefront of the treatment of zoonoses and the protection of public health. The demanding conditions under which they work make them fair and necessary to reward their offer. “
