The course of upgrading the facilities in the indoor gym Metinspected by the Attica Regional Governor, Nikos Chardalias and pointed out the support of the Region in amateur sports.
Upgrading work is being carried out at the Metz Indoor Gymnasium with the region and Nikos Chardalias was informed of their first phase. The upgrade was requested by Amateur Panathinaikos and the work is included in the subject of the Attica Planning Agreement with OPANDA, with a total budget of € 1.7 million, and are funded by the Region’s own resources, with EUR 1 million exclusively on the closed gym.
According to the information from the Region, air conditioning units have already been installed in the central lounge and auxiliary venues, shades on the gym glass panels, as well as fitness equipment at the training.
In the coming months, the second phase of the work will go ahead, which includes extensive wethermalties, repair of frames and floors, refurbishment of changing rooms and bathrooms, colors of all surfaces, hydraulic – mechanical installations and outdoor repairs, as well as renovation.
During his visit, the Regional Governor met with Amateur President PAO Dimitris Vranopoulos, as the Metz indoor gym is the headquarters of the Panathinaikos women’s volleyball team. Indeed, Chardalias had the opportunity to attend part of the athletes training and discuss both the Italian coach of the team, Alessandro Tsipini, and separately with each of the players, wishing every success in the international and Greek goals of the team for the new season.
“We want to be useful and effective for amateur sports and in this context we practice your efforts by reinforcing the infrastructure of the installation of Metz’s closed,” the regional governor Nikos Chardalias said, adding: “We use our athletes with our athletes and our athletes to our athletes – Over -effort and their performance – the conditions of training they deserve. For his part, Amateur President Pan Athenaikos, Dimitris Vranopoulos, thanked the Regional Governor for the initiative, as he pointed out “he responded immediately to our request.
