The anxiety about the outcome of Russia’s war in Ukrainehas culminated in the efforts of the US president Donald Trump to do everything to achieve peace.
Donald Trump, according to a Financial Times report, allegedly proposed the development of Chinese peacekeeping forces in Ukraine, supporting a proposal previously made by Vladimir Putin.
According to the report, Trump made this proposal at a meeting with European leaders and Ukraine President Volodimir Zelenski at the White House last week.
The US president, therefore, allegedly suggested that China be invited to deploy peace forces to monitor a neutral zone along the 1,300 kilometers of the Front line in Ukraine under a possible agreement with Russia.
A senior Trump administration official denied the information, saying that “there was no discussion of Chinese peacekeeping forces”.
Such a proposal would bring reactions to Europe and has been rejected in the past by Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski, as Beijing is one of Moscow’s supporters.
