The legendary warship of the Greek Navy, the famous Averof will obtain his own digital museumto keep the tradition and history of the Greek naval forces alive and beyond.
In particular, Attica Regional Governor Nikos Chardalias signed an invitation to the Ministry of National Defense to submit a proposal with the aim of creating the world -wide digital museum that will be acquired by the Averoff Battalion, its historical flagship.
The invitation is part of the “Culture and Sustainable Tourism” axis of the Attica Regional Operational Program 2021-2027 and aims to exploit the country’s cultural stock through innovative technological and digital interventions.
Total public expenditure amounts to 1,600,000 euroswhile the Submissions of the relevant proposals by the Ministry of National Defense are expected to be completed by January 28, 2026.
The implementation of the action is a comprehensive cultural and technological intervention, it will allow the digitization, scientific documentation and promotion of the cultural reserve of the Averoff battleship, the historical flagship of the Navy, which for more than a century is the timeless symbol of our independence.
