Dimitris Constantaras: From the School of Philosophy to Journalism
Born in a family with artistic backgrounds, Dimitris grew up as a child of separated parents. The relationship with his father, the legendary actor Lambros Constantara, was particularly important, though complex. Despite the apparent distance of childhood, Dimitris never stopped seeking his presence and companionship. In the years that followed, when his father had serious health problems, he took care to visit him often in Varkiza, talking to him and bring to life their childhood memories, bridging the distance that time had imposed.
Studying at the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens and completing the high school in America, Dimitris returned to Greece to chart his own course. Although he could follow in his father’s footsteps in the theater and cinema, he chose journalism, proving early on that the words were his great love.

Journalism found in him an excellent speech operator, a professional who respected his job and his colleagues. From his first steps on television with the “Sunday” broadcast on ERT, to the management of the sports department of the same public television and his collaborations with Mega and other channels, Dimitris Constantaras He stood out for his immediacy, consistency and warmth in speech.
But his offer was not limited to television. His love for the new generation of journalists was evident in every move. His support for younger colleagues, his guidance and advice leave behind an important footprint in Greek journalism.

Even when his health began to have problems in recent years, Dimitris never lost his smile and his power.
