THE Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited Tuesday morning, along with the Minister of Health Adoni Georgiadis, The Athens General Hospital Hippocrateswhere extensive infrastructure upgrades are ongoing with the renovation of Emergency Department.
The prime minister toured the TEP premises and was informed of the progress of the work, which is being carried out in order not to affect the provision of services to the citizens, which are expected to complete the September.
The renovated section will cover extent 990 square metersgreater by 282 sq.m. Compared to the existing structure, and will house services to welcome and care for a wide range of incidents.
Among other things in the new TEP There will be a modern patient sorting area for their immediate evaluation, a rejuvenation room for cases where the life of the hospitalized, a walking clinic for milder cases, single examinations will cover many specialties, disinfection room and isolation of infectious patients, monitoring a patient.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis had the opportunity to chat with patients and workers of the Hippocrates, listening to their needs and problems they face.

The upgrading of the ICT, funded by the recovery fund, is part of a network of interventions aimed at both the strengthening of the Hippocrates with staff and the modernization of its facilities and equipment.
The hospital’s budget in 2024 amounted to € 94 million, up 87.9% compared to 2019, while medical staff has increased by 16% in the same period.
In the same context, projects are also being implemented to upgrade the hospital’s building complex, with NSRF resources, with a total budget of € 4.96 million, which are expected to be completed at the end of the year.
