Following his phrase in Le Monde that he lacks active politics – although he is a current SYRIZA MP – and with the scenarios for the “return” with the establishment of a new party to flourish, the former prime minister is now in a hurry to get into the confrontation with the government. In a post, he responded – indirectly – to what the government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis attributed to him.

“Only the barbarians are missing”
Had preceded The statement by government spokesman Pavlos Marinakiswho when asked about Mr Tsipras’ “return” scenario, commented in a clear style that: “Only Mr Tsipras is missing in the 17,000 barbarians, criminals, rapists, murderers, drug dealers who were released on his day.
Indeed, Mr. Marinakis continued his specific report by saying that Mr Tsipras’ defeat has a clear footprint: “Mr Tsipras left losing every area of the country, in every age category, in every professional category, except for the prisons. How is this done ”.
In his response, however, the former prime minister makes no mention of what the government spokesman said about prison congestion.
“His works and days are known”
In addition to Mr Marinakis and other government officials, they point out that any “return” Tsipras will also mean the reminder of the basic “stations” of his rule. “Mr Tsipras’ works and days are well known. He charged more than 100 billion euros in the country, set the world of queues, cheated on society, said he would reduce or abolish taxes and increased them. He is the prime minister of the two ministerial ministers. Maximou, Mr. Kontonti, ”the government spokesman still said, heralding a … hard rock for the” reception “of the scenarios that” see “a new party by the former SYRIZA leader.
Mr Tsipras, for his part, argues that in his days the foundations for the stabilization of the Greek economy and the support of many were laid. In his post on Facebook, he is trying to highlight comparative advantages from his governmental journey over the achievements of the New Democracy government under Kyriakos Mitsotakis. As he claims in detail:
– Current growth benefits only one minority. According to the latest surveys conducted at the beginning of the year, only one in five Greeks live well, 45% of the population has financial difficulties and 35% is indebted.
– Greece was able to restructure its public debt, which allowed it to get out of the international program in August 2018 and regain its financial autonomy … and benefit from low interest rates by 2032.
– My government chose to burden the richest with the burden of austerity and reduced inequalities. Under the conservative government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who has been in power since 2019, inequalities are growing. Between 2015 and 2019, 10% of the poorest increased by 45%, and decreased by 2.7% for 10% of the richest. In contrast, between 2019 and 2023, 10% of the poorest decreased by 8.1%, while 10% of the richest increased by 13%.
– We have returned to a generalized corruption. The recently erupted European agricultural grant scandal is quite indicative.
He talks to Thessaloniki one day before Mitsotakis
The former prime minister on the occasion of his speech at an Economist event on September 5- the day before the rise of Kyriakos Mitsotakis at TIF- seeks to continue Bra de Fer with the Prime Minister, presenting his views on the country’s course in all critical fields. The next basic station of his design is undoubtedly the presentation of his book towards the end of the year. Its purpose is to speak in detail for the 2015-2019 period, arguing that it was time to “say its own truth”.
