A particularly serious incident took place in Mesara, in Heraklion Cretewhen a pharmacist gave a baby -to -baby baby syrup which has been expired for 4 years.
As it became known, a family chose to stay last weekend in Mesara in Crete to make his vacation. But they quickly took the ride when their baby raised fever and decided to give him antipyretic syrup.
The parents immediately took it to a pharmacy to buy the syrup. They found a pharmacy, bought the medicine and continued their vacation, without creating suspicions of the obvious, that the expiration date was tested.
However, as they found upon their return to Heraklion, the syrup had expired, and was expired in September 2021.
This alarming event creates concern for consumers about how often the employees are controlled by the drug species.
After this incident, it is necessary to check the private pharmacy in order to determine the observance of the rules of correct storage and disposal of drugs and other products as well as the process of withdrawing the overdue drugs.
